In the national electricity market, a connection point is where a generator, a network or a customer meets the grid. This masthead is where the national energy machinery meets the Hunter.
The energy transition is usually reported from one of two distances: national policy coverage that never touches a postcode, or local coverage that quotes the national documents second-hand. The Connection Point exists in the gap. We read the market’s own paperwork, AEMO’s plans and quarterly data, regulators’ determinations, EnergyCo’s project pages, the proponents’ releases, the Clean Energy Regulator’s datasets, end to end, and report what those documents actually decide about one region: the Hunter.
That means the reader we serve is anyone the transition lands on here: people who work at the stations and the mines that supply them, households watching batteries go in down the street, councils and businesses planning around closure dates, suppliers and trades deciding where the work will be, and anyone anywhere who wants to watch how national energy policy behaves when it reaches a real place.
